Summary

Key points
- Crown Lands contracted the Soil Conservation Service to remove the previous bridge in June 2025, ensuring cultural and environmental obligations were fulfilled.
- BK Engineering Consulting Solutions, a local regional firm, will provide design engineering services.
- A new bridge will restore safe pedestrian access across Sugar Mill Creek for locals and visitors.
- Collaboration is underway with the City of Coffs Harbour, National Parks and Wildlife Service, and Reflections Holiday Parks to coordinate the rebuilding of the bridge.
Safety and access
- There is no pedestrian access across Sugar Mill Creek until the new bridge is built.
- Do not attempt to cross the creek on foot as water depth and tides make crossing dangerous.
- Aboriginal cultural heritage may be damaged through informal access by the public.
- Alternate access to Green Bluff via Rutile trail, off Ivory Circuit in North Sapphire.
