Moonee Beach pedestrian bridge

Projects

Summary

We have allocated funding for planning and designing a potential replacement pedestrian bridge at Moonee Beach. The project is currently moving forward with design development, environmental assessments, and statutory approvals, including consultations with Registered Aboriginal Parties as part of the requirements for Aboriginal cultural heritage assessment.

The previous pedestrian bridge was closed in November 2022 due to safety concerns and removed in June 2025. Since then, there has been no formal pedestrian crossing over Sugar Mill Creek at Moonee Beach.

Any future construction of a replacement bridge will depend on planning approvals, environmental and cultural heritage assessments, and the results of ongoing consultations.
