We have made improvements at Fivebough Wetlands to upgrade the water management systems.
These works help water move more efficiently through the wetlands and stopped erosion that was damaging the walking track.

From 25 April 2026, we upgraded a water control structure and completed channel remediation works to protect the wetland and walking track.
The project:
- protected the walking track by preventing ongoing erosion
- improved water flow to support healthier wetland conditions
- reduced safety risks for people using the track and lookouts
- protected a Ramsar listed wetland of international importance
- supported long term planning and management of Fivebough Wetlands.
