Crown Lands

Conveyancing, status and other searches

We help councils, businesses and residents find out the status of Crown land. We provide information search services relating to the land.

  • For status searches, a tax invoice will be issued for payment prior to processing your request.
  • For conveyancing searches, an invoice will be issued after the search has been completed. The complexity of the case determines the time the search takes.
  • Fees overview.

Conveyancing search for sale or purchase of land

Conveyancing searches are only available to registered solicitors and conveyancers. Tenure and associated financial details are provided in the search results. These searches are particularly important for waterfront land and rural properties. A monthly billing account with Crown lands is required prior to application.

Current road status searches are limited to defining the authority responsible for the road.

Historical land status searching can take considerable time. You’ll get a chronology of historical land status information over the requested Lot/DP.

Current tenure holders and solicitors can apply to get details of any existing Crown tenures they hold.

Local offices can provide other types of land status information – like a road’s or stream’s centre line, mean high-water mark and more.
