Reserve Manager

The Crown land manager (CLM) induction is designed to prepare board members and organisations for their appointed role.

Induction program

The program covers:

  • background and history of Crown reserves
  • an overview of the objects and principles of the Crown Land Management Act 2016
  • detail on the legal and management structure of the Crown reserves system
  • an introduction to the Crown land manager role and relevant code of conduct
  • where to go for further information and support.

Completion of the induction is mandatory for recommended board members prior to their appointment or re-appointment being finalised.

You need to complete the induction to become a board member.

It will take about 30 minutes to complete the program.

You must do the induction every 5 years.

Crown land managers will need to register for Vista, the Department’s new learning platform, to complete their Crown land manager induction.

How to complete the induction course on Vista

CLMs can register directly on the Vista site.

  1. Select Create New Account. If you already have an account, select Sign In.
  2. Consent to site policy.
  3. Enter your self-registration details including email and password.
  4. Confirm your registration (upon receipt of email) and continue to the Vista site.
  5. Select CLM induction course on front page (note: manually enable pop ups in your browser if requested).
  6. Complete course and access Certificate of Achievement.

User guides are available to assist with registering.

The Department is automatically notified when you have completed the online program and maintains a register of members who have completed the induction.

Certificates of achievement are available upon induction completion, and are valid for 5 years.
