Maritime Infrastructure Plan

A strategic plan guiding future investments in maritime infrastructure, to deliver the greatest benefits to recreational boaters, commercial fishers and the tourism industry.

From 1 July 2020 the former maritime-related functions of the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, Crown Lands will be centrally coordinated and managed by the Maritime Infrastructure Delivery Office (MIDO) within Transport for NSW. This centralised approach responds directly to customer feedback and means planning, coordination and delivery of maritime infrastructure and dredging services is now streamlined – making services easier for our customers to access.

In December 2018 the NSW Government released the NSW Maritime Infrastructure Plan, developed as a joint initiative between Transport for NSW, Roads and Maritime Services and the NSW Department of Planning, Industry & Environment – Crown Lands.

The plan sets out a more strategic, coordinated and evidence-based approach to planning, prioritising and delivering NSW Government investments in maritime infrastructure.
