Crown Lands

Matong Hall demolition

Projects

Crown Lands will demolish the unused and deteriorated Matong Hall building to improve community safety by removing hazardous structures and debris.

The building is in poor condition and beyond economic repair, and it does not provide any community benefit in its current state. Demolition of the unsafe structure will remove ongoing public safety risks and maintenance costs and prepare the site for future community use.

Crown Lands obtained development consent from Coolamon Shire Council in 2025 to complete the necessary demolition works following a public exhibition period.
