Greenwell Point

Greenwell Point

The township of Greenwell Point is situated on the Crookhaven River and is approximately 120 km south of Sydney in the Shoalhaven area of southern NSW.

The Crookhaven flows directly to the ocean at Crookhaven Heads and lies directly south of the Shoalhaven River.

In 1829 the first wharf was constructed at Greenwell Point for the loading of local produce.

While the old wharf has now gone, wharfing facilities are still maintained at Greenwell Point and are sited close to the town centre near the end of Greenwell Point Road.

The wharfing facilities consist of two separate but adjoining jetty structures, main concrete Tee Jetty and a smaller timber L-shaped jetty.

A number of local commercial fishermen and charter vessel operators use the wharfing facilities.
