The townships of Forster and Tuncurry are situated on the southern and northern sides respectively of the entrance to Wallis Lake.

Forster and Tuncurry are approximately 220 km north of Sydney on the mid north coast of NSW.

At Tuncurry, maritime facilities are maintained for the local fishermen’s co-operative and include a timber wharf and several finger jetties for the local fishing fleet.

The Fishermen’s Co-operative makes available both fresh and cooked seafood and has outdoor seating and tables where the local catch can be viewed as it is unloaded straight from the fishing boats.
