Ballina is situated on the Richmond River and is approximately 600 km north of Sydney on the far north coast of NSW.

Coastal harbour facilities at Tweed Heads are located on the northern side of the River about 3 and 4.5 kilometres upstream from the river entrance.

The harbours provide mooring facilities for both commercial fishing vessels and recreational boats.

Other facilities available include slipway and boat maintenance, fuel and car parking.
