Structural Condition Report on the Pelican Marina
The Department of Primary Industries - Lands is releasing the Public Works Structural Condition Report on the Pelican Marina following a GIPA (freedom of information) request.
The Department commissioned the report in November 2015, shortly before assuming control of the marina complex.
On receipt of the report, DPI Lands acted on priority recommendations, including removal and disposal of the jetties and floating pontoons, prior to the marina’s partial collapse on 8 February, 2016.
Deconstruction of the marina is nearing completion and the Department is collecting the facts and any relevant information that may assist in understanding the causes of the incident.
